One of the biggest oral health issues is BAD BREATH. Nearly 40 million Americans suffer from bad breath, other wise known as halitosis. This can be very embarrassing and halter your social life and overall confidence. We have good news, there are simple and effective ways to freshen breath.

Brush and Floss Regularly
One of main causes of bad breath is plaque. Plaque will build up on teeth if not regularly brushed and flossed. Food left between teeth adds up to a big problem. I'm sure you have heard your dentist say you need to brush and flossing your teeth two times a day.

Scrape Your Tongue
The coating that builds up on your tongue is a foul smelling bacteria. A great way to eliminate the bacteria is to gently brush your tongue for a few seconds.

Avoid Foods That Sour Your Breath
Onions and garlic are the main offenders. "Unfortunately, brushing after you eat onion or garlic doesn't help," says dentist Richard Price, DMD, a spokesperson for the ADA.

Rinse Your Mouth Out
In addition to brushing and watching out for certain foods, anti-bacterial mouthwashes add extra protection by killing and removing plaque. After eating, take a few minutes to rinse your mouth out with either anti-bacterial mouthwash or just water.
