At the
National Taiwan University in Taipei researchers have come up with a smart
tooth sensor that acts a false tooth to monitor eating, speaking, drinking and
coughing. This device can change the way
we monitor our diets and our overall health.
This is only a prototype that was found to be 93.8% accurate. An
accelerometer stays inside the artificial tooth where it sends all the data to
the researchers. The next “oral sensory
system” is planned to have a rechargeable battery and wireless communication, not
only will this monitor diet but health as well.
